Nan's Song - Robbie Williams |
] |
Wow....talk about an odd coincidence.
At this very moment, it is a year to the exact minute that I last posted on LJ. And I didn't even realize it til I looked down at the clock. May 5, 2008 at 5:17pm was the last time I posted. And I decided to post again a year later, to the EXACT SECOND.
Weird.
Anyway, the reason why I decided to post is simple....a favorite actor/comedian of mine died within the last couple of days....
RIP Dom DeLuise.
And I am very sad. :(
That is all

This is gonna be a short entry.
I just have to say...
I -like- Yo Gabba Gabba. It is a good show for kids. The music is -great-, I'm glad to see a show with some of the bands that've been featured.
I got my friend Lana into the show and now she loves it. I'm sorry, Lana.
There aren't many kids shows where one of the characters dances, and does The Sprinkler.
I am strange.
That is all.

Ween - 'I Got to Put the Hammer Down' |
] |
Ween is one of the greatest bands of all time.
The Aragon Ballroom sucks. We missed about twenty minutes of the show due to the HUGE line winding around the building. I'd never seen ANYTHING like that before. Srsly. It was ridiculous. I didn't pay $30 to stand outside and miss songs. >.<
Ween fans can be obnoxious idiots. And why would a supposed 'fan' spend all of his time outside/inside the venue screaming 'Ween sucks!' about a million times? If they suck so much, why did you give them your money, genius?
And why is it considered cool to be a drunk, wasted idiot? Its like, if you're not you're looked down on by supposed 'fans' of the band. Maybe I want to just listen to the band play and not get drunk off my ass and act like an asshole. It's my perogative, right?
Oh, and Ween aren't going to go back to their 'old selves' ever, so some of you people can just LET IT GO ALREADY. If you're not happy with the direction the band has taken, then DON'T LISTEN TO THEM. Enuff said.
Anyhow, the band sounded AWESOME, even though the acoustics in the place sucked balls. I took my brother to the show, who wasn't a big fan before, and during the show he turned to me and said, "Wow, these guys are GOOD!" and I just sorta smirked at him and said "I -know-." LOL
Anyways, yeah.
The guys just sound better and better as they go on...where usually, the opposite happens in one's career.
And the new album La Cucaracha is supposed to be spectacular, from some reviews I've read. I can't wait to get it! :)
Oh, and they -did- play some of my favorite songs...'Stay Forever', 'Bananas and Blow', 'Freedom of 76', amongst others.
OK BYE.

OK, so my brother and I are going to see Ween at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago next Saturday, Oct 20th.
Due to our last experience with taking the South Shore train when we went to see Alice in Chains (leaving the show before the encore, taking a 15 minute T-ride and sprinting about two blocks and catching the train with about a minute to spare), I've decided it probably would be best just to stay in Chicago overnight, that way we wouldn't have to leave the show early just to catch our ride home. Well, I've checked about a gazillion hotels around the area for that particular date, and EVERYTHING IS SOLD OUT. WTF.
And I am definitely NOT paying $400 for a freaking hotel room that I'm only spending about 8 hours sleeping in.
Grah, it sucks. I guess I'll just keep on searching online in hopes that something cheap will open up or something. Bah. I -hate- driving in Chicago and I will NOT do it. Blaaaaah. >.<

I guess the idea is to go to Google, and type in your name, then the word 'needs' after it, both words in quotations, like this: "Matt needs"...then hit enter and see what results come up. Then you post them in your Journal.
Everyone try it, it's hilarious...here are some of mine! :D
~ Matt needs new liver, please help
~ Matt needs someone to bend him over and give him 20 paddles in his shorts.
~ Matt Needs Money.
~ Matt needs a job!
~ Matt needs to have his bottom bared and a paddling needs to be administered.
~ Matt needs to step up tonight
~ Matt needs a fine instrument
~ Matt needs to spend 45 minutes - 1 hour. to type his book report for English.
~ When Matt needs to let off steam he plays his drum
~ Please donate to the "Matt needs new pants" fund.
~ Matt needs prayers, and help and maybe just a balloon, a rainbow or a little fairy dust now and then
~ Matt needs to start selling large blue foam "We're Number One!" hands

Hey everyone...
I posted some of my work on this website, and I was wondering if any of you that are on here would possibly like to take a look at it and tell me what you think? I made a thread on the BNL Bulletin Boards, but for some reason every time I make a thread there, nobody ever responds. I dunno what I ever did there for people to ignore me, but hey...whatever.
Anyways, here's the site:

Comments are definitely welcome, I would appreciate it a lot. :) Thanks!

Fountains of Wayne - 'Strapped for Cash' |
] |
I dunno, but for some reason I've just recently discovered how great the band Fountains of Wayne is. I never really paid much attention to them before...I liked the song 'Stacy's Mom' and found the video to be amusing, but not enough really to buy the album.
A few days ago, I heard the song 'Someone to Love' on the radio, and the damn thing got stuck in my head. So I decided, hell...I've had good luck with 'buying albums having only heard one song on them' before, so I picked up Traffic and Weather, FoW's latest CD.
Turns out it's really, really good. :) I think I can officially add them to my list of favorite bands. And now I have to go and pick up the rest of their albums.
And how could you not love a band that puts comedian Dmitri Martin in their video? :D *points to the above video* C'mon! ;)
Anyways, just thought I'd share. Has anyone else got this album, or are a fan of FoW?
Matty, out.

Chris Benoit, family found dead Written: June 25, 2007 STAMFORD, Conn., June 25, 2007 – World Wrestling Entertainment was informed today by authorities in Fayette County, Ga., that WWE Superstar Chris Benoit, his wife, Nancy, and his son were found dead in their home. Authorities are investigating, but no other details are available at this time.
Instead of its announced programming for tonight on USA Network, WWE will air a three-hour tribute to Chris Benoit.
Chris was beloved among his fellow Superstars, and was a favorite among WWE fans for his unbelievable athleticism and wrestling ability. He always took great pride in his performance, and always showed respect for the business he loved, for his peers and towards his fans. This is a terrible tragedy and an unbearable loss. ---------------
I...honestly don't know what to say right now, I'm still in shock over this.
First I lose my grandfather, and now one of my favorite wrestlers of all time...
There's just a whole lot of confusion going on in this brain of mine right now.

Barenaked Ladies - 'Maybe Not' |
] |
Stolen from Samantha! :D
Start off by picking your 10 favorite recording artists without looking at the questions below...then answer the questions and post in my 'replies' section :D Then cut n'paste and put it in your LJ!
1) Barenaked Ladies 2) Tim Blane 3) Alice in Chains 4) Guster 5) Faith No More 6) Toad the Wet Sprocket 7) Collective Soul 8) Pink Floyd 9) Ween 10) Edwin McCain
------------ Q: What is your favourite song by #9? Eek. Good question...hard to pick. Eh, I'll go with either 'Beacon Light' or 'Mutilated Lips'.
Q: Is there a song of #1 that makes you sad? Yup. 'War on Drugs'.
Q: What is your favourite song by #8? That'd have to be 'Comfortably Numb'.
Q: What is your favourite song by #10? 'Sign on the Door'
Q: What is your favourite album by #8? . 'The Wall'
Q: How did you get into #5? I remember seeing the video for 'Epic' years ago when MTV actually played videos, and thinking...'damn, these guys are strange. Is the CD out yet?' XD Actually, I really got into them later into their career, after they'd put their last album out. 'Last Cup of Sorrow' is one of the greatest songs ever. . Q: What is your favourite song by #4? 'So Long'
Q: Who is your favourite band member of #1? Are you kidding me? They're all awesome...I can't pick! Though if I had to, I lean more towards Ed.
Q: What is a good memory concerning #4? Visiting my friend Jenne in Pennslyvania and listening to Guster's CD 'Lost and Gone Forever' in the car whilst driving everywhere :D
Q: What does #9 remind you of? Oh geez, that's easy. JENNE! :D Boognish forever, behbeh! ;)
Q: Is there a song by #3 that makes you sad? Probably 'Nutshell' or 'Am I Inside'
Q: What is your favourite song of #1? 'When I Fall' or 'For You'.
Q: How did you become a fan of #7? Hearing the song 'Gel' and thinking, 'damn these guys rock'.
Q. What do you like to do while listening to #6? Rock out in the car and sing along
Q. Which of the 10 has influenced you the most? Barenaked Ladies, definitely...though Alice in Chains is neck and neck.
Q. Which artist makes you the most happy? Tie between Tim Blane and Barenaked Ladies
Q. Which artist makes you the most sad? Probably Faith No More; they were such a great band, and whenever I listen to them I'm sad because they could've made more great music if they hadn't split up.
Q. Which artist makes the best dance music? Ha! Eh, probably BNL I guess.
Q. Which artist have you liked the longest? Alice in Chains
Q. Which artist have you liked the shortest? Tim Blane
Q. Are there any artists you will still be listening to in 20 years? All of the above!
Q. What are you listening to now? Barenaked Ladies - 'Maybe Not'
